Birtle and District Community Centre
Is a relatively new arena with a large artificial ice surface and a spacious indoor viewing area as well as
sideline bleachers. There is a well-equipped kitchen from which many meals are served.
Hockey
There is a full range of Intermediate Minor Hockey for boys and girls, which include the local high school team,
Recreational and Old Timer hockey. Practices and games for Minor Hockey are after school, in the early evenings and during the daytime hours on Saturdays.
Fees are $90 for 7 and under, $115 for older players. Families with 3 or more players pay full price for the first 2
players and half price for each
additional player from the same family.
Manitoba Rural Female Hockey League west division
teams also exist for girls in the following age groups:
11 and under, 13 and under, 17 and under.
Fees are $90.
Figure Skating
Twice a week from the beginning of November
until the end of March.
One
professional coach teaches the C.F.S.A. program
and supervises the Amateur coaches in the instruction of the Canskate
program.
Clinics are offered occasionally here and
in the neighboring communities for the benefit of the amateur coaches.
The season ends with a grand achievement night where groups and
individuals display their newly acquired skills.
Fees for members are $110 for the Canskate program and $320 for
the C.F.S.A. program. The C.F.S.A. is made up of dance, free skate,
and skill that are tested at different levels from Junior bronze to
gold.
