I was looking at this website with my grandpa the other day cause this is his home town. It brought back alot of memories for him and in the historic photo's we even got to see his old house. I don't know if anyone's relatives remember Garnet Frost but he remembers many of them. It was a great trip down memory lane!

I visited Birtle in Sept 2004 as my wife's family had settled there in the 1880's.  Their name is Reeder (Moses,Ben,James) others by marriage were Bartley, Randall, Walker. Had a great time with Dave & Charlene Smith. Dave showed me around Birtle and where my wife's family farms were. I was impressed with the town. It is a beautiful place nestled in the valley, hope to visit again soon......

My mother, Helen Bailey (nee Berry) was born in Birtle and we love to come and visit our relatives often. The golfing is great, the scenery is terrific and the people are friendly. Sure brings back wonderful memories, visiting Grammy and Grampy Cochrane and the Cottingham farm. Many turtle hunts and lots of fishing on the Birtail River. Wonderful website, best of luck to Birtle, we'll be watching here on the East Coast.
