I had the pleasure of attending the 125th anniversary
and wish to congratulate everyone on a special job done
very well. I had the opportunity to meet old friends
from far too many years past as well as making new
friends during the week. It seemed that the most common
phrase was “remember when…”
Thank you to everyone who put the party together and to
all the people who came home to celebrate.
It was a super week.
Thanks,
Cliff Olson

Wishing everyone in Birtle a very happy 125th. Enjoy the
Celebrations !
I was born in Birtle and raised on the Shaw Family Farm
near Solsgirth. I have many fond memories of Birtle and
area during the '50s. Main Street was a bustle of
activity especially on Saturday evenings, with shopping,
and movies at the Birtle Theatre. I love coming back for
visits to my grass roots.

I am thanking you on behalf of Frances and myself for an
absolutely wonderful time we enjoyed with our 5 day stay
in Russell and the great time we had in Birtle. One did
not have to imagine how much work was put in by the
various committees to pull off the extensive program you
offered. It was especially appreciated that you thought
of having the over 70's together in one place at one
time, and the amount of work you went to in your effort
to reunite such a wide variety of ages. It was so
interesting to see some people after 25 and in some
cases, after 60 years. Thank you for the afternoon tea
and the home baking served.
We loved the garden tour and the drama in the cemetery.
Such fun.
Sincerely, Helen

My husband Len and I so enjoyed our time in Birtle that
I just had to email and let you know. We felt Birtle put
on a wonderful show for the guests. It was so nice to
meet people after so very many years and get caught up
on what they are doing. We really enjoyed the church
service at St. George's Anglican Church as I was
christened and confirmed there as well we were married
there. It all took me back in time with happy
remembrances.

I would like to thank you and all the history book
volunteers for the copy given to the South West Branch
of the Manitoba Genealogical Society. We appreciate your
generosity and will recommend the purchase of this book
to anyone researching their Birtle roots.
The reunion was a great success and I enjoyed it very
much. The suppers, socials, golf tournament and all
other activities were well received by everyone I spoke
to. You all deserve a pat on the back for a job well
done.

Thank-You
The 125th Anniversary
Celebrations was a huge success thanks
to the numerous volunteers, sponsors and
community organizations. Once again our
community pulled together to show our
community spirit and pride and just why
it is such an amazing place to reside.
Thank-you to everyone who participated
in the many events and to those who
travelled and came home to help us
celebrate. A special thanks goes to
Scott Brown and the many events that he
sponsored.

Nancy and I are booked in at the park for the 125th
celebrations week. Excited to see friends from the past
[none of us are old] and family. Not sure if we can
party like we used to, but all we can do is try. Sounds
like a great time, and thanks to all at Birle that have
made this possible. See ya there, Don..

It's hard to
believe that it's been 38 years since I left good old
BCI . Although I only lived in Birtle for a little over
3 years it's amazing how many people I know that still
live in your town . I hope to help make Birtle's 125th
Anniversary an week to remember and invite all past and
present residents to join in the many special planned
events . Special thanks in advance to all the volunteers
who serve on the numerous committees that will make this
reunion a success

Congratulations to
Birtle on your 125th birthday. I was able to attend the
100th birthday but unfortunately I won't be able to
attend this celebration. My family lived in Birtle from
1949 to 1963. As we owned a cabin in the park, I have
very fond memories of our summers in Birtle. Is there
anything better than a thunderstorm that rolls up
through the Birtle valley?
Good luck with 125th!
